Heather Woods Broderick is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and song writer currently based in Los Angeles. As a songwriter she excels at distilling her experiences into a soulful melancholy that’s enduring both for its relatable moments and its persistent sense of mystery. Her uncanny ear for evocative production and gorgeous vocal harmonies serves her well throughout her work. Across her discography, the rich dreamlike atmospheres she creates hint at a darkness looming on the horizon, while the singularity of her ethereal voice and unique sense of melody always seems to linger long after the music has stopped.
Heather’s work and collaborations have been featured in many TV series and films including Things Will Be Different (2024), The Charnel Ground (2022), Greta (2018), This Land, Princess Cyd (2017) Lovesong (2016), and Beaconsfield (2012). Additionally she has scored indie shorts including ‘Moss Fam’ (2022).
As a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Heather has had the opportunity to record and tour with plenty of incredible artists including Sharon Van Etten, Efterklang, Beth Orton, Lisa Hannigan, Alela Diane, and Horse Feathers.
Music took root in Heather’s life before she was even born, when her parents, both musicians, met for the first time at one of her mother’s gigs. The two married and moved to Maine where Heather, second of three children, was born at home. Music has always been the grounding force in Heather’s life. Growing up listening to her parents play folk songs on their guitars and evenings of listening to vinyl with her father in the living room as a child established a deep connection and appreciation for music and harmony from an early age.
In April 2023, Heather released her fifth full length solo album titled Labyrinth (Western Vinyl). 2022 saw the release of her first fully instrumental release titled Domes (DAUW) – a collection of soothing, cyclical cello pieces.
